The University of Sopron organised an introductory lecture for its international students in the Central Library on 7 October 2021.
You can check the summary written by one of the Stipendium Hungaricum students of the University below.
“Luckily, this semester almost all University activities for students are reversed to in-person approach. So, international students had a chance for an introductory lecture about the University’s Library services. The Librarians are very welcoming and helpful. Three top staff of the Central Library, including the Director, Ms Monika Tompa, took us through the quality library services that support learning, research, and personal needs. It was intriguing to know the archival collection of the Central Library. Listening to the history of the Central Library also threw more light into tracing this great University to its’ roots in 1735. Now, I’ve added Selmecbanya to one of the places I need to visit. I have my Central Library card now and I’ve plan to patronize that knowledge hub very much. Certainly, I’m part of history for University of Sopron.”
