University of Sopron representative at EAIE 2019

 
 
6,200 higher education professionals from 95 countries came together to share ideas, network and expand their knowledge on education at the 31st European Association for International Education annual educational conference and exhibition that took place at the Messukeskus Expo and Convention Centre in Helsinki from 24 to 27 September 2019. This year's theme was 'Encompassing All Voices'.

Ms Sándor met Salome Bilanishvili, Head of the Office of Foreign Relations at Ilia State University, Tbilisi, Georgia at the Study in Hungary stand and discussed possible ways of cooperation within the Erasmus+ credit mobility programme. Our colleague has affirmed that the Faculty of Forestry is ready to hand in the application next February again.

Hungarian higher education was represented by Tempus Public Foundation, the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference and 20 universities at the Study in Hungary stand. TPF has been participating on the EAIE annual exhibition and conference since 2013, with the aim of supporting the appearance of the Hungarian higher education and partnership building of the Hungarian universities.

Márta Sándor, Senior International Coordinator having worked at the Rector’s Office since 2010 supporting internationalisation, represented University of Sopron at the event.

Prior the conference, our colleague participated in EAIE - Savonia Campus Experience she was invited to together with other staff in charge of internationalisation at partner institutions of Savonia University of Applied Sciences. Participants of the pre-conference event got to know Savonia UAS Microkatu Campus in Kuopio and met their staff to discuss future cooperation initiatives.

At the conference, Ms Sándor attended the full-day workshop “Best practices in evaluating foreign credentials”, joined the sessions “European Programme Management presents: Erasmus 2021-2027: making mobility a reality for all” and “Marketing and Recruitment presents: What's on the horizon? Lessons from market leaders”, “The digital future: electronic credentials and online document authentication for international admissions”, met colleagues of partner universities and initiated new partnerships.
