University of Sopron’s International Office Organized a Professional Workshop for Faculty and Staff Working with International Students
The International Office of the University of Sopron recently hosted a professional workshop for faculty members, coordinators, and administrative staff who work with international students.
The event was opened by Katalin Krajczár-Sári, Lead Coordinator of the International Office, who welcomed the participants and provided a brief overview of the current situation regarding international students at the university. Following this, Erzsébet Szaniszló, International Coordinator, analyzed the results of the university’s student satisfaction survey, highlighting the most popular lecturers and courses, as well as offering insights into the findings of a national survey focusing on international students, commissioned by the Higher Education Council.
The workshop continued with an interactive lecture by Dr. Boróka Gács, a lecturer at the University of Pécs, titled The Role of Faculty in Students' Mental Health. Later, Dr. Georgina Kasza, Head of Unit at the Study in Hungary Directorate, representing the Tempus Public Foundation, discussed the role of internationalization in the development of higher education.
To conclude the program, Dr. Ildikó Furka, a lecturer at the Centre for Foreign Languages at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, shared best practices on managing intercultural differences. She provided the audience with valuable insights, practical exercises, and personal experiences to enhance their approach to working with international students.
