Record-Breaking Sustainability Ranking: University of Sopron Secures a Spot in the World's TOP 80

The University of Sopron has jumped an impressive 21 places in a single year on the global sustainability leaderboards, claiming the 78th spot worldwide, 27th in Europe, and 3rd in Hungary for 2026. This landmark achievement places the institution solidly within the top 5% of higher education institutions globally.

The university scored 8,805 points out of a possible 10,000 in the UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings 2026. This 88.05% score is particularly remarkable given the surging competition: 2,016 higher education institutions across 110 countries took part this year.
