Vice-Dean of the University of Sopron Wins "Professional Role Model" Award

Based on student votes, Prof. Dr. Balázs Kósa, Vice-Dean for Education at the Institute of Creative Industries (Faculty of Wood Engineering and Creative Industries, University of Sopron), has won the prestigious Lecturer of the Year Award. In the voting organized by the National Union of Students in Hungary (HÖOK), he took first place in the "Professional Role Model" category for medium-sized institutions.

Abdalrahman Ahmed, a PhD candidate at the University of Sopron, has achieved a major success at one of Hungary’s most important multidisciplinary scientific events.

Abdalrahman Ahmed was awarded First Place in the Environmental Remote Sensing and Data Analysis Subsection at the XXIX Spring Wind Conference (Tavaszi Szél Konferencia), held from June 19–21, 2026. The event was organized by the Association of Hungarian PhD and DLA Candidates (DOSZ) in cooperation with the University of Pécs.
