
The Vice-Rector of the University of Sopron Holds Talks in Finland
Prof. Dr. Ferenc Lakatos, Vice-Rector for International and Research Affairs at the University of Sopron, visited Finland for a series of professional meetings with Finnish partner universities. The Embassy of Hungary in Finland, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, organized these meetings with the aim of exploring opportunities for research and educational cooperation, primarily in the field of forestry.

The University of Sopron Introduces a Unified Framework for the Responsible Use of AI
The University of Sopron has established a unique and comprehensive framework for the use of artificial intelligence (AI). In September 2025, the University Senate adopted a unified institutional AI Guideline, the first of its kind in Hungary to provide a comprehensive regulatory framework for a higher education institution.
The document takes into account the needs of different user groups and provides a complex, yet flexible framework for the responsible use of AI in education, research, and administration. By addressing ethical, data protection, scientific, and professional aspects simultaneously, it represents a pioneering step in Hungarian higher education.

Smart Robots for the Forests of the Future – New R&D Partnership with the University of Sopron
The University of Sopron and SatiNav Robotics have signed an agreement to develop forestry robots. The aim of this newly launched collaboration is to create autonomous, self-operating robots that will contribute to the automation and modernization of forestry processes. These new technologies are designed to reduce manual labor demands and support the development of sustainable and modern forest management.

“Czech Autumn” at the University of Sopron
The University of Sopron has launched a unique, semester-long program series entitled “Czech Autumn” (CSŐSZ), offering a rich variety of cultural and educational experiences. The initiative not only engages Hungarian audiences but also features active Czech participation, including joint educational and cultural projects. The program marks a new chapter in Hungarian–Czech scientific, artistic, and social cooperation, supported by the Mendel University in Brno, the Embassy of the Czech Republic, and the Czech Centre.
