The first-ever Stipendium Hungaricum Excellence Award Gala took place at the historic Festetics Palace in Budapest, celebrating exceptional academic and community achievements of international scholarship holders in Hungary. A total of 48 outstanding students from 25 institutions and 32 countries were recognized across three award categories, showcasing the diversity and strength of the Stipendium Hungaricum community.
From the University of Sopron, Adriana Cristina Gazabon Rosado from Colombia, an MA student at the Benedek Elek Faculty of Pedagogy, received the 2024/2025 Stipendium Hungaricum Excellence Award. She was honored in the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts category titled “Understanding who we are. Inspiring who we can be.”
This category highlights excellence in social studies, arts, and humanities, with a focus on creativity, cultural understanding, and contributions to human knowledge. Sixteen exceptional students were recognized this year.
Adriana was selected for her remarkable academic performance, her active involvement in university life, and her dedication to supporting fellow students. Her personal motto reflects her belief in the transformative power of education:
“Guided by faith and love, I believe that education transforms lives when we teach not only minds but also hearts.”
The gala was attended by distinguished guests, including Dr. Ádám Imre Szűcs, Deputy State Secretary for Training, Scholarship Programs, and Science Diplomacy, and Richárd Bodrogi, Director General of the Tempus Public Foundation. Both emphasized the importance of global education, intercultural understanding, and academic excellence.
