Living and studying abroad is rich but challenging experience. Transition to new culture, country and school environment can have many challenges. These challenges can be experienced even more difficult when the students are far away from their usual and familiar support system. That is why Student Support Centre at the University of Sopron will have an important role to help students to deal with their academic, personal, career or culture related issues.
You are welcome to talk about personal, academic, career and/or cultural topics in a private and confidential environment with Karolina Jankóné Komornoki.
In order to book an appointment for a consultation, please write a message to studenthelp@uni-sopron.hu.
"My name is Karolina Jankóné Komornoki. I graduated as a psychologist from Eötvös Loránd University Budapest in 2003, and as a clinical psychologist from Semmelweis University Budapest in 2009.
I will provide consultation services that focus on mental health, well-being and resilience. I believe that addressing mental health proactively enhances academic achievement of students.
My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment in my consulting hours, where students can discuss their challenges in their personal and academic journeys: academic pressure, social difficulties and life transitions. Consultation can help to reduce distress and develop new coping strategies.
I have been working in the psychiatry department of a hospital for years, where I gained excessive experience in assessing and treating a diverse range of psychological conditions. My background in psychiatry also allows me to identify early signs of mental health issues, and to communicate effectively with individuals in distress."
