Our international students continue the wonderful tradition of bringing cultural exchange into local classrooms. Most recently, at the invitation of the Soproni Deák Tér Primary School, a group of our students visited two classes for an interactive, lively English session.

Four of our Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holders took part in the visit: Shaamil Abdulah Manafi (Mozambique, Faculty of Economics), Aida Toktarova (Kazakhstan, Benedek Elek Faculty of Pedagogy), Khaliun Tuvshinjargal (Mongolia, Faculty of Economics), and Vanessa Maria Angela (Indonesia, Faculty of Forestry). They began with short, engaging presentations about their home countries and daily lives, followed by small-group conversations with the pupils.

The morning proved to be an exciting experience on both sides. While the local pupils already have solid English skills, for many, this was their very first time having a real conversation with someone from another corner of the world. It was a fresh, inspiring break from textbook routines, and our students were just as excited to connect and answer all the curious questions.

Organized by the International Office of the University of Sopron, the initiative has already brought students to several local schools—fostering intercultural dialogue while introducing younger pupils to the nice international community right here at our university. The leadership of Deák Tér Primary School warmly praised the visit, and we have already received an open invitation to return.
