This prestigious partnership, confirmed by the UN Climate Change Adaptation Division (Nairobi Work Programme), formally recognizes the University of Sopron's dedication to sustainable development and addressing the critical challenges posed by climate change.

The University of Sopron is uniquely positioned to contribute not only its academic expertise but also its proven operational commitment to sustainability, exemplified by being the 1st Hungarian carbon positive university. Our institution’s strong performance in global rankings, including placing in the global TOP 200 for SDG 15, "Life on land" , and our latest achievement of ranking 99th globally in the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking, demonstrates our readiness to deliver high-quality, relevant research to the UN Climate Change process.

Our decades-long focus on forestry, the wood industry, and forest ecosystems, combined with innovative approaches like biomonitoring and advanced Geoinformatics, aligns precisely with the Nairobi Work Programme's priorities.
