Over the weekend, a group of international students from the University of Sopron went hiking in the enchanting forests surrounding Sopron, now dressed in the magical colors of autumn. The refreshing trip, which nourished both body and mind, was led by SH mentors Alex Morris and Adriana Gazabon.
Here are a few student reflections on the event:
„I felt alive again, not only by the peace that comes from walking through nature in autumn but also from the calmness I lived when the trees felt like they are holding me. It felt alive with all colorful leaves that had shades of orange, green and yellow. There was also the fog which came to give a mysterious special feeling. We walked together, different talks, many laughters and then we celebrated a friend’s birthday. We played a game that made us feel part of the place as we used natural elements. Then the weather started to get cold, so we started speeding us the walk as the leaves crunching under our feet and every step felt like a deep breath refreshing our bodies and souls. How amazing, small moments brought us together in nature in a friendly hike.”

„For many international students, autumn and its chilly days are something new to adapt to and experience — just like for me. There’s always a bit of worry about what to do during this time of the year. But thanks to my mentors and the University of Sopron, I’ve discovered that there’s actually a lot to do — and even sweat 😭🤣 — while hiking!
My favorite moment was at the top of our first viewpoint in Sopron, watching as the heavy fog slowly disappeared and a sunny yet breezy day began to unfold. Such a beautiful view for a nature lover like me! 🌤🍂”
